Packing is the longest part of any house move. A family home can take many evenings to pack well, and a rushed pack is where most breakages come from. Moveall’s Wrap & Pack service takes it off your hands: in Moveall’s words, we wrap and pack all approved household items, supplying all the different boxes and packing materials you’ll need for your moving day. You can head out for the day and come back to a house that is ready for the truck. Moving Company Adelaide is a service of Moveall Australia Pty Ltd, an Adelaide removalist.

What Wrap & Pack covers
- All the materials. Every kind of box and packing material the household needs, supplied by us. You do not need to buy or collect boxes.
- Purpose-made boxes and wrapping for clothes, books, heavy items, fragile items, TVs and artwork.
- The packing itself. We wrap and pack all approved household items, room by room.
- A house ready for the truck, so moving day is spent moving, not packing.
Wrap & Pack is part of a complete move with us, not a separate delivery of boxes. Tell us at the quote that you want it, and we will plan the packing with the rest of the move. If you would like help unpacking at the new home, ask us when we quote.
Packing services in Adelaide, room by room
Every room in a house packs differently. This is how the main rooms are handled, and what to tell us about each when you ask for a quote.
| Room | What needs care | What to tell us |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen | Crockery, glassware, appliances and the pantry | How full the cupboards are, and any good glassware or china |
| Living and dining | TVs, artwork, mirrors, books, ornaments | Screen sizes, large frames, and anything fragile or valuable |
| Bedrooms | Clothes, linen, shoes, bedside contents | Wardrobe space, and whether clothes can travel hanging |
| Bathrooms and linen press | Toiletries, towels, manchester | Anything that could leak |
| Study | Books, files, computers and screens | Documents you want to carry yourself |
| Garage, shed and laundry | Tools, garden gear, sports equipment | Anything heavy, sharp, or that holds fuel or chemicals |
Boxes and materials, matched to what goes in them
The right box matters as much as the packing. Heavy things go in small boxes so they can be lifted safely; light, bulky things go in large ones. Moveall’s Wrap & Pack supplies the different boxes a household needs, including purpose-made boxes for clothes, books, heavy items, fragile items, TVs and artwork, and the wrapping and packing materials to fill them.
- Books, files and tins go in small boxes, packed flat, so a box stays light enough to carry.
- Plates and bowls are wrapped one at a time and stood on edge, with padding above and below.
- Glasses are wrapped one at a time and packed upright, with the heaviest at the bottom.
- Clothes go in boxes made for them, so they arrive as clean and as uncreased as they left.
- TVs and artwork go in purpose-made boxes and wrapping, not a blanket and a hope.
- Linen and pillows fill the large, light boxes, and can pad other cartons.
Add Wrap & Pack to your move
Tell us where from and where to, and choose packing in the type of move. We will ask about the rooms and include the packing in your written quote.
Labelling: how boxes find the right room
A box is only useful at the new home if the crew knows where it goes. Every box is labelled with the room it belongs in, on the side as well as the top, so it can be read when boxes are stacked. At the new home, the crew carries each box to its room instead of leaving a stack in the garage. If the new house has rooms that will be used differently, tell us, so the labels match the new home and not the old one.
If you are packing yourself
Plenty of people pack some or all of the house themselves, and the crew can move a well-packed house quickly. Moveall’s terms ask for loose items to be packed in cartons and for furniture to be emptied of loose items, so everything that is not furniture needs to be in a box before the truck arrives. A few habits make a big difference.
- Start with the rooms you use least: the spare room, the shed, the good china.
- Pack one room at a time, and keep each box to one room.
- Fill each box firmly. A half-empty box crushes; an overfilled one splits. Pad the gaps.
- Keep boxes liftable. If you cannot lift it comfortably, it is too heavy. Use a smaller box.
- Label the side and the top with the room, and mark fragile boxes clearly.
- Pack a first-night box with kettle, mugs, phone chargers, toiletries, medicines, sheets and towels, and take it in the car.
- Leave the hard rooms to us. You can pack the easy rooms yourself and book Wrap & Pack for the kitchen and the fragile pieces. Ask us when we quote.
What not to pack
Some things should not go in boxes on the truck at all. Keep cash, jewellery, passports, important documents, medicines, keys and anything irreplaceable with you. Flammable and dangerous goods such as gas bottles, fuel, paint thinners, aerosols in bulk and pool chemicals should not go on the truck. Empty the fuel from mowers and garden tools, and defrost and dry the fridge and freezer before moving day.
Packers in Adelaide, as part of one move
Some people look for packers in Adelaide and a separate removalist. Booking both through one company is simpler: the people who pack the house know how it will be loaded, the inventory is the same, and there is one quote and one point of contact. With Wrap & Pack the packing is planned with the rest of your move: see the page for removalists Adelaide families book for complete house moves, and the page on the movers Adelaide homes book for moving day.
Fragile furniture gets the same care as fragile boxes. How mirrors, glass tops, timber and upholstery are protected is on our page for the professional movers Adelaide homes need for good furniture. For the piano or the pool table, see pianos and heavy items.
Packing for an apartment move
If either home is an apartment, the packing has to be finished before the lift booking starts. Tell us the building’s lift times, and we will plan the packing around them.
When packing happens
The packing is timed with the rest of the move, and we agree it with you at the quote. For most homes it makes sense for the house to be packed before moving day, so the crew can start loading as soon as it arrives. For an apartment, the packing has to be finished before the lift booking starts. Tell us your settlement or lease date, and any days you cannot have people in the house, and we will plan around them.
On the day the packing is done, leave out what you need until the move: a change of clothes, toiletries, medicines, phone chargers and the first-night box. Show us anything that is not to be packed, such as documents you are carrying yourself or things staying with the house, and keep them in one place, clearly marked.
Unpacking at the new home
Because every box is labelled by room, the crew carries each one to the room it belongs in, so unpacking starts in the right place. Unpack the kitchen and the bedrooms first, then the bathrooms, and leave the spare room and the garage for later. If you would like help unpacking, tell us which rooms when we quote.

Do you supply boxes and packing materials?
Yes. Wrap & Pack supplies all the different boxes and packing materials you need, including purpose-made boxes for clothes, books, heavy items, fragile items, TVs and artwork.
Do I need to be home while you pack?
No. Moveall says you can head out for the day and come back to a house ready for the truck. Show us anything that is not to be packed before you go.
Can you pack only the kitchen and the fragile items?
Ask us at the quote. Many people pack the easy rooms themselves and want help with the kitchen, the glassware and the artwork.
Will you unpack at the new home?
Ask us when we quote, and tell us which rooms you would like unpacked. Every box is labelled by room and carried to that room either way.
Is packing included in the moving quote?
If you book Wrap & Pack, it is part of your written quote, along with the materials. Tell us at the start so the quote covers it.
