Removalists across 28 Adelaide suburbs

Areas we service: Adelaide’s suburbs and removalists for the Adelaide Hills

These are the places we move households to and from: Adelaide City and 27 suburbs, from Salisbury and Golden Grove in the north to Marion and Blackwood in the south, the beaches from Brighton to Semaphore, and Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills. They are grouped the way Moveall groups them. A move between any two is a local move. Moving Company Adelaide is a service of Moveall Australia Pty Ltd, whose office is in Wayville, just south of the city.

Removalists for the Adelaide Hills

The Adelaide Hills are on Moveall’s list of areas, and on ours the Hills move we are asked for most is Mount Barker. A Hills move is a different job from a move on the plains. The route is the South Eastern Freeway, with its long climb out of the city through the Heysen Tunnels. At the other end, the roads are narrower, driveways can be steep, long or gravel, and the truck may not reach the door. We plan Hills moves around that access: the size of truck, the carry from where it can stand, and the time it takes.

  • Mount Barker: a Hills town off the South Eastern Freeway, with established streets near the town centre and newer estates around it. See removalists in Mount Barker for how a Hills move is planned.

If you are moving to the Hills, tell us at the quote how steep and how long the driveway is, whether it is sealed, whether there is room for a truck to turn at the top, and whether there are low branches over the drive.

Adelaide City

  • Adelaide City: apartments and townhouses inside the park lands, where lift bookings, loading docks and city parking rules decide the day. Rundle Mall is closed to vehicles for most of each day. See local movers Adelaide for city access.

Northern suburbs

  • Prospect: character homes on leafy streets just north of the park lands, many with narrow side paths.
  • Walkerville: older homes on quiet streets near the River Torrens.
  • Mawson Lakes: townhouses, apartments and family homes around the lakes, with stairs and shared driveways.
  • Salisbury: family homes on the northern plains, reached by Main North Road, Salisbury Highway and Port Wakefield Road. See removalists in Salisbury.
  • Elizabeth: established homes on wide blocks further north.
  • Paradise: homes along the River Torrens in the north-east.
  • Modbury: family homes in the north-east, close to Tea Tree Plaza.
  • Golden Grove: a planned suburb of family homes, loops and cul-de-sacs.
  • Tea Tree Gully: homes at the foot of the hills, where some streets and driveways climb.

Eastern suburbs

  • Norwood: villas and cottages around The Parade, with narrow streets and busy parking.
  • Payneham: established homes on quieter streets east of the city.
  • Magill: homes on the rise towards the foothills along Magill Road.
  • Campbelltown: family homes in the east, some on sloping blocks.
  • Burnside: larger homes and big gardens near the foothills, often with long or sloping driveways.

Southern suburbs

  • Unley: villas and cottages close to the city, with on-street parking and narrow side paths.
  • Goodwood: cottages and terraces near Goodwood Road, next door to Moveall’s Wayville office.
  • Mitcham: homes at the foot of the hills, with some steep streets.
  • Blackwood: a foothills suburb of sloping blocks and winding roads.
  • Marion: family homes and units in the south, close to Westfield Marion.

Western suburbs and beaches

  • Glenelg: apartments and homes around Jetty Road and the foreshore, where beach traffic and parking shape the day. See removalists in Glenelg.
  • Brighton: beachside homes and units south of Glenelg along the coast.
  • Plympton: established homes and units between the city and the bay.
  • Henley Beach: homes and apartments near Henley Square and the jetty.
  • West Lakes: homes around the lake, on quiet loops and courts.
  • Semaphore: older homes near Semaphore Road and the foreshore.
  • Port Adelaide: stone cottages and heritage streets beside the Port River, with narrow frontages. See removalists in Port Adelaide.

Plan a move in your area

Tell us the two suburbs, and anything about the access at either end.

Your details go only to Moveall Australia Pty Ltd, who reply by phone or email.

Moving beyond these suburbs

Moving to or from somewhere not on this list? Ask us. Moves into and out of South Australia run through Moveall Interstate, which moves homes across Australia by road and rail freight. Office and commercial moves run through Moveall for Business.

Wherever you are moving in Adelaide, the job is the same: a written quote built from the inventory, packing if you want it, furniture protected and every room placed. See the page for removalists Adelaide families book for complete house moves.

How the area changes the plan

The suburb does not change how a move is quoted, but it changes what we ask. In the city and on the coast the questions are about lifts, docks and parking. In the older inner suburbs they are about narrow paths, steps and tight hallways. In the newer estates they are about the street and where the truck can turn, and in the Hills they are about the driveway. Tell us about your street and your home at both ends, and the crew arrives with a plan that fits them.

Questions people ask

Do you move to the Adelaide Hills?

Yes. The Adelaide Hills are on Moveall’s list of areas, and Mount Barker is on ours. We plan Hills moves around steep driveways, narrow roads and truck access.

Is a move from the city to the Hills a local move?

Yes. It takes longer on the road than a move across the suburbs, and the access at the Hills end often decides the day, but it is planned and quoted the same way.

My suburb is not on the list. Can you still help?

Ask us. Tell us both addresses when you call or send the planner.
